Energy Transition in Africa Dialogue Series & Transitional Minerals Book Launch

Join the 4th session of the Energy Transition in Africa Dialogue Series (ETADS) which will be held at the Alternative Mining Indaba 2024. This session critically examines the Human Rights implications inherent in Critical Minerals Value Chains in Africa. Glean the preliminary findings from an ongoing research initiative by the Zimbabwe Environmental Law Association (ZELA) and the Africa Institute of Environmental Law (AIEL), exploring the Human Rights Implications of emerging Critical Minerals Value Chains in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Mozambique, Zambia, and Zimbabwe.

The 4th edition of the ETADS will serve as a vital forum to validate the findings arising from the individual country case studies, further enriching the recommendations derived from this comprehensive study. The dialogue series, thus, plays a pivotal role in fostering nuanced discussions on the intricate interplay between Human Rights considerations and the evolving landscape of Critical Minerals Value Chains in the specified African countries.

ETADS serves as a platform designed to facilitate interdisciplinary knowledge sharing and learning, fostering enhanced policymaking in the realm of the energy transition in Africa. Targeting technocrats and policymakers from African government agencies, bi and multilateral organizations, representatives from local authorities, industry stakeholders, scholars, civil society practitioners, and students specializing in natural resources governance in Africa, the dialogue series offers an opportunity for participants to engage with and glean insights from experts representing diverse sectors.
