Dear Partners, Colleagues and Stakeholders

REF: STAFF CHANGES AT THE ZIMBABWE ENVIRONMENTAL LAW ASSOCIATION

I trust this email finds you well and that you had a restful Easter break.

I am writing to update you on staff changes at the Zimbabwe Environmental Law Association(ZELA).

The organisation has the pleasure of welcoming three new officers .These are  the Grants Compliance Officer, Ms. Rudo Patience Saruchera and two Legal Officers, Mr. Manele Mpofu and Mr. Effort Nkazimulo Dube. The two legal officers are Bertha Justice Fellowship Program beneficiaries. The fellowship will enable them to receive mentorship working alongside seasoned lawyers so that they become the next generation of human rights and movement lawyers in pursuit of social justice and human rights for all.

It is with a heavy heart to notify you that this month end will see us bid farewell to Mrs. Plaxedes John our Finance Assistant. We greatly appreciate her contribution towards ZELA’s growth over the past eleven years and we wish her well in her future endeavors.

As we celebrate our 20th Anniversary, we fondly look back at the achievements we have realized as an organisation over the past years. We cannot help it but marvel at your immense contribution which has seen us evolve as a premier public interest organisation from our sole focus on environmental rights to a broader natural resource governance agenda across different natural resources including land, water, wildlife, and mineral resources.

Yours Sincerely,

Mutuso Dhliwayo

(ZELA Executive Director)
